I've been walking shorter routes this week and adding new stretches to help
prevent shin splints. I figured today would be a good chance to do
something shorter, but more difficult, and get back home to the huge
project I've been working on for days. If you're not familiar with the
area, we live at the top of the hill, so I pasted in the elevation to show
the climb toward the end.

Today's awesome walk, 8.44 miles in 2:31
I set out this morning hoping to finally get a panoramic photo of
Counterbalance Park while its rainbow lights were animating. If they're in
the mode where they light up the whole park one color at a time, slowly
changing from one to the next, the result should be really neat. Well, it
turns out they don't have the lights on in the morning. It was a neat walk,
though. Lots of cool architecture to see on Queen Anne, and I never make it
over there. I'm not actually sure if pedestrians are allowed on the
Interbay bike path. Luckily, nobody rode through while I was there.

Walkin'
The shin splints issue is ok for now. I started walking 30 steps on my heels and another 30 on my toes after every morning walk this week. No issues so far. Of course, I hope to hulk out tomorrow and walk more than twice as much as a typical day, so we'll see how much it helped. I'm just glad that I didn't do any shortcuts this week and didn't hurt afterward.
