Walkin'
One thing I didn't mention in my post about Friday's walk was that two new pairs of shorts and a pair of boxers arrived in the mail on Friday. I've been floating in my shorts lately and figured it was time to get some new ones a size smaller. But I also figured I should wait to mention it until they were washed to see how they really felt. And they fit! Even the boxers, which are L instead of XL. It doesn't matter if boxers are too roomy as long as they don't slide down, but it's really annoying when shorts are too big and bunch up under your belt.
I should probably get a couple more pairs of shorts. I have a terrible habit of wearing the same ones day after day.

Pasta sauce in a jar is good
However, a few easy steps can make it great. Throw some olive oil in a hot pan. Peel two cloves of garlic. Pour salt on them and mince them (the salt makes it easier to get off the knife). Throw the garlic into the oil. Wait a couple minutes. Pour the jar of sauce in. Add some red pepper flakes. Add some red wine. Cheap red wine. Heat it up.
So much better that way. It amazes me to think about the way I used to just open the jar and pour it on the hot pasta.

Good news, bad news
The good news is that the cafeteria at work has opened again after being closed for four months for renovations, and one of the many new things is a rotating spot for different local restaurants, including a Vietnamese choice. Finally.
The bad news is that in their new, slick, restaurant layout, they seem to have decided that the self-serve fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal area didn't need to be included. Seriously, the daily fruit cup is just about the only reason I want to come out here each day. Guess it's time to experiment with making batches at home and seeing how long they can last. It's such a bummer, though. You gotta buy a lot of grapes when you buy grapes, knowmsayn?
I'll check again tomorrow to be sure. It was really crazy in there because it's opening day and I could see them not quite having everything ready.
EDIT:
The guy who usually rings up my fruit says the fruit was supposed to be there. Will definitely look tomorrow. The Vietnamese was pho only, which makes me sad. I prefer bun. I did have some pretty wicked ginger halibut, though.

Fruit!
Yeah, turns out there's no self service area anywhere, so I went to
each area and checked each menu. Eventually I found one where there
was a side of fruit listed, and ordered there. It was weird to have
someone else spoon up my fruit, like someone manning a salad bar. Oh
well. I have fruit.

My original plan was thwarted when I discovered the road I wanted to
take was in a gated community/golf course. I think if you're not
allowed to go somewhere, it should be indicated on a map.
