For the last couple of weeks, my left knee would feel a little weak in the morning but I was fine for class. But by time to teach on Thursday this week, it was in a lot of pain. Not surprising after a couple of months of teachign 6-7 classes a week, but I think the final straw was Tuesday's strength training workout. I was in the explonic mode on eGym, in which the machine tells you to go as hard and as fast as possible each time your progress dot hits the graphic that indicates it's time to go. I think that last hard and fast leg extension was the beginning of the end.
Luckily the new instructor in Mukilteo who I asked to take over my Tuesday classes there was ready to start, so by getting a sub for my class tomorrow, I was able to get Saturday-Wednesday off and just teach Thursday and Friday this week. My knee's already a lot better, now it's just weak instead of sore. I wore a brace while teaching Thursday and Friday, which was pretty frustrating. Luckily most people know my routine pretty well, so when I had to try to demonstrate a jumping jack without jumping, only a couple of people didn't get it.
I have some errands I could run today but it's probably best to just continue to relax with my knee elevated. The places I might go today will be less crowded tomorrow anyway.
