I put a strip of duct tape across the top of my TV last night so Steve would step on it and hate it. Normally, I tell him to get down as soon as he heads up that way, but I wanted him to experience the tape, so I just watched. His first step was to balance on the top of his scratching post, which always impresses me because the top platform is gone, so he stands on about 16 square inches of wood.
For the first time that I've seen, he tried to step over in front of the TV, which is at about the same level. There's no room at all, so he retracted back to his square. Finally, he jumped to the top, and kept leaning down in front to check out Saved by the Bell. I'm so sick of that show, so it was at least nice to have it catified.
Then he realized he was standing on tape. He'd pull a foot up and inspect it, and say, "Eh." He was very defeated, and retreated to the slanty back part of the TV. And then he fell. I'd say I wish I had a cam pointed there throughout the day, but he's usually on the bed for about ten hours at a stretch whenever it's sunny.
