Does anyone else find the sound of a hovering helicopter just agonizingly awful? It concerns me because I think news choppers can make the situations they're covering escalate. I bet helicopters have turned peaceful protests into riots. The sound is just that obnoxious.

• 16:51:33: So sick of assholes who play chicken with buses. Just bashed my shin for the second time in two days when the driver had to slam the brakes.

All of this is homemade. Up top there's banh hoi (rice noodle cakes) with scallion oil alongside bean sprouts with mint. Down to the left there's pickled vegetables (cucumber, carrot, onions, radishes) and on the right, some chicken I marinated in lemon juice, soy sauce, hoisin, and Sri Racha.

Not pictured, nuoc cham dipping sauce.

I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner yesterday, and then breakfast again today. Then we did a big grocery shopping trip and a fridge cleanout. The next thing that I eat will be made by a cook in a bar!
