I have a coworker who lives pretty close, and when they were here last July 4th, her daughter excitedly claimed a cat picture I had on the prize table. Lately I've been trying to find a hand-drawn cat I found at Goodwill shortly after we moved here, but it hasn't turned up. However, in the search I found yet another one, a framed poster of Vittorio's 100 Cats and a Mouse. After confirming they wanted it via Messenger, I made plans to go to Japanese Gulch this morning and leave it on their porch on the way there.

I'd hoped to get some time lapses from near Boeing, but the sky was completely clear. That made the plan even better, though. My normal Sunday spot has no shade and gets really warm on sunny days, whereas the gulch is full of huge trees. Great place to escape the sun.

So that'll be my plan most Sundays. Clear skies mean finding shade.

Lowell's another good warm weather destination because it's also very well-lined with trees. And it's a place I don't go much in the winter because it's kind of creepy in the dark. It's nice and close, too. You wouldn't know by this first photo, but it was quite sunny by the time I left. Too bad about the huge, swollen mosquito bite on my neck. I picked up a new bottle of repellant to keep in the trunk.

This is the same place I usually leave a camera down there, but I found a way to make it even less visible to passersby. You get a bit of an idea in this time lapse how quickly it warmed up.

I don't normally leave my dashcam app running unless I want to make a hyperlapse, but yesterday I wanted a hyperlapse of the car wash, and I ran it on the drive over so I wouldn't have to remember to start it. Glad I did, so I could show everyone this goofy thing.

If there's one thing you can count on here, it's a weather fake out or two before summer arrives to stay. After I mentioned how clear and warm and not my style it was, it almost immediately got cool and cloudy again. Enough that the time lapses are pretty understated, but that's fine. It's much nicer weather to be in. And it's gorgeous everywhere you go now because the flowers are blooming. I even noticed our driveway irises popping up yesterday.

Only got one swim in this week due to work obligations, but had a nice time at the marina on Wednesday and in Mukilteo yesterday.

Oh yeah, I was thinking about tweeting to SmugMug this morning because I've been worried about what might happen to all the images people have embedded from flickr if they migrate our accounts. But I decided to be smart and flip over to their replies tab and found great news.

Just to clarify, Flickr accounts and images are staying on Flickr. SmugMug and Flickr will remain separate entities. Only the Terms of Service information will change to that of SmugMug for Flickr account owners.

I set up two time lapses on the walk yesterday but only liked one of them. Then I set one up during the swim this morning and didn't like it, but got a good hyperlapse on the way to see Deadpool 2 today, plus a good time lapse from the car while watching it. The dashcam software wasn't very cooperative on the way back and I didn't feel like editing multiple clips together, so I tossed all that!

Some of those pictures from yesterday were from a spot I haven't been able to get to since last summer due to mud, and when I went that way, I saw three coyotes running around! I hope the orange cat I saw near the animal control center gets found by animal control instead of coyotes.

Deadpool 2 is a lot of fun and I'm glad I gout out to see it today.

We went to the golf course for a nice brunch before hitting the farmers market yesterday, and since today's a holiday, Garrett said yesterday was like an extra Saturday. That was funny, because within a couple of minutes, I looked at my phone and saw a subject line from an email list I'm on saying basically the same thing. For me, it's more like today's an extra Sunday, since I did Sunday-style walks two days in a row.

I suppose it could also have been called a coyote weekend because yesterday I saw coyote puppies and today I saw a full-grown one.

Yesterday was a fairly typical outing to Langus. I was able to get nice and far during the seasonally-muddy area, though, which is where I got a nice close look at the coyote puppies. It was a gorgeous morning in spite of all the mosquitoes, and I'm glad I've been able to consistently remember to put on bug spray before heading out.

Not completely floored

It's not a crisis, but we're definitely in situation management mode at work. It's requiring my constant attention so my usual routine of stepping away for a bit in the morning isn't happening right now. I had time for some yoga Tuesday, but yesterday the only exercise I got was moving out of my room. Today? Just moving back in. Being busy at work and at home at the same time is a little much, and I wish I could say it was over, but they couldn't get an installer here for the living room flooring, just my room. It's two different types of flooring and two different crews were going to work at the same time. Thank goodness it was my room that got done first, sleeping two nights in my office wouldn't be ideal.

At least there's an amazing new floor in there!

An old friend used to be able to get the cab to arrive by lighting a cigarette. Today, I got the floor crew to arrive by trying on a new swimsuit. After nine long hours of hiding out in my office while they worked, we have awesome new flooring in the living room and at the bottom of the stairs. And since I was at my desk for so long, I got spend a lot of time watching stuff on YouTube and cleaning out my Watch Later list there. Pretty productive!

We talked to our newish neighbor for a while in the back yard and mentioned that we're looking to get rid of the pellet stove in the background of that picture. He came back with his wife and they both love it, so once the room is set up again, we'll have them over to test it. We definitely don't need it at all. That room doesn't get cold, and even if it did, a pellet stove would be too much. My guess is that it was installed before the basement below was finished.

We're not supposed to move the furniture back in for 48 hours and that's fine with me. Definitely not in the mood for any heavy lifting right now.

For months now, I've really been enjoying the gravel road they added heading North at my Sunday spot. They recently added a fence with a gate at the start of it, but that wasn't a big deal because it didn't go very far down the hill next to the road, so it was easy to walk around it and keep going. Today, I found a new No Trespassing sign on the gate. So it's an an access road only. Unfortunate. Thankfully the route heading up on the opposite side of the park that's been overgrown a lot lately was recently mowed.

My feet have been getting sore during walks for a while now, and I hoped that only being able to walk on Sundays these last couple of weeks would be enough of a break for them to recover a bit. Instead, I got back from the walk yesterday with feet more sore than ever, and woke up today with an extremely sore ankle. My doctor left the practice recently and I need to see my new one anyway, so I called hoping to be able to do that today. It's not just my foot, my throat's been raw a lot lately, I suspect due to excessive allergens in the air, even though I've never had allergies before.

The new doctor can't see me for over a month, so they told me to go to the walk-in clinic. They did x-rays and said I don't have any breaks or fractures, and referred me to Podiatry to check for plantar fasciitis. I'm not supposed to walk for the time being. More swims are in order and I'm thinking about a three-month YMCA membership because they offer swimming all day as opposed to the three swim sessions at the neighborhood pool. We'll see.

At least yesterday's walk was really nice in spite of the pain.
