My job is to maintain a worldwide advertising network. I'm always seeing various country names because of it. China is one of those countries. Pretty much every time I see the word "China", I get this song stuck in my head.

Bad kitty, good soup

I made soup for the first time tonight
Roasted sweet potato and parsnip, balsamic roasted cauliflower and carrot, all blended up into hot chicken stock. Hints of cayenne and cinnamon. Served with a dollop of sour cream and a pressed turkey, jarlsberg, and garlic herb cheese sandwich. It turned out good, if I do say so myself.

As I pop some ibuprofen for a headache I can feel coming on, I'm so thankful to work in an office with a well-stocked medicine cabinet. It wasn't so long ago that the company where I worked was bought by another, and one of the first things they did was remove all the free painkillers and other things like the stove, all in the name of "safety". Because an adult might take something that makes them sick and that's a liability or something. Screw that noise. I'm so glad my comfort is more important than the trouble I might get them into if I were stupid.

But there's no reason to take a picture of bison chili unless you've got a photographer and food stylist onhand. It was very good, though. I halved the recipe except for the hominy and beans, since there's no handy way to use the other half of the cans and I'd just as soon hve more beans and hominy anyway. It was served with sour cream and avocado chunks, and jalapeno corn bread on the side. Lots of lovely leftovers, too.

And then! A light turns on
I have wanted this as a tattoo for a long time now:

Garrett thought it was a dumb idea at first but recently realized how awesome it would be. So now I'm thinking about it a lot again. I always pictured it being on my upper arm, covered by my sleeve, so I could go, "doot doot, doot-doooooooo" and pull up my sleeve to reveal it. But then I realized I might want to fill my arms up with full sleeves and then what, etc.
I then realized, I always wear shorts, and could put it on my thigh. FOUR places to choose from, ugh!
But I pasted the picture into this post and realized something. The background needs to be black, so it doesn't make any sense for it to go on my thigh or anywhere all by itself; it belongs in a larger, dark area. So now I know where I want it. It needs to go on my upper left arm. I was already thinking about a moon and clouds there anyway, so it could go at the tippy-top. Or, upside-down on the underside of my arm, so I could lift it to reveal.
So yay, there's that. Now I just need to set aside money for tattoos. Someday. There are so many things my money needs to go to.
