I am the king of tacko night
The outer two tacko's are the typical ones I always make and have probably described many times. The middle one is buffalo chicken. Beans and rice get boring, so I added a side of sweet potato tater tots. The avocado was served on the side since the tacko's were getting kinda full.

One hour and two minutes, couch to bus stop
Including shower. Possible mcfnord sighting. This is doable, especially if
I shower at work.

Let's try this
Old M-Th routine:
5:15 Wake up
5:30 Leave
5:33 Arrive at first bus stop around the corner, check emails until bus arrives
5:43 First bus arrives
5:48 Arrive at transfer point, cross street, catch second bus, arrive near work, walk about half a mile to the office
What I tried the last two days:
5:10 Wake up
5:25 Leave, walking to where I catch the second bus, about .8 miles, with plenty of time to spare
5:48 Catch second bus, arrive near work, walk about half a mile to the office
By getting up five minutes earlier, I was able to ensure that I'd probably never be late for the second bus, and also got even more walking in. I decided to do a test today, so I stepped away from the laptop at 9am and got in the shower, doing my normal morning routine, and leaving on foot. Instead of walking West toward downtown, I went North past Volunteer Park, down Galer, and through Interlaken Park. I was a bit disoriented coming out of the park, going East when I should have headed North. When all was said and done, I arrived at the bus stop after the one where I normally get on at 10:02.
My bus gets there at 5:53, though, and I got there sweaty. If I don't get a wild hair during the weekend, on Monday I'll try getting up at 4:50, brushing my teeth, and heading out. We have showers at work with towels and soap and shampoo, so I'll just be sure to wear the previous day's shirt while I walk, and bring a fresh shirt, deodorant, and hair product with me.
4:50 Wake up
4:55 Leave
5:50 Arrive with at least a couple of minutes to spare
I used to walk about 1.5 miles to work each day and really loved it, especially since it was heading down into Seattle and enjoying the awesome morning views. Commuting by bus has been great for my brain, since I read every day both directions, which is a lot more than I've ever read in my entire life. I've always hated giving up walking to work, though. I've actually thought about trying that walk down to the further stop before, but it just didn't seem realistic. Walking down to the closer one the last couple of days made me really want to, though. It's a nice little walk, but not far enough to feel like it's worth much. The new route is 2.2 miles, which sounds like an excellent start to the day.
I feel very unscientific for not making a note of the time that I left the house today. I figured I'd need to take a shower at home no matter what, but doing it at work sounds like a better idea. Plus I won't wake Garrett up any more.
And since I can, I'ma toot my own horn for being able to get ready so fast. I think that's an awesome trait. Bed to bus stop in 20ish minutes is impressive IIDSSM.

A surprisingly good salad
We were at Trader Joe's yesterday, so the salad vegetable choices were limited. I ended up with a head of iceberg, a hothouse cucumber, and some mini heirloom tomatoes. When it was time to make the salad (while the pizza cooked) I added ranch dressing and pickled cabbage. Ranch is fine, but I think we've all had way too much of it over the years. Adding pickled vegetables puts a nice new twist on it.
